Scientific Name: Coffea arabica
Synonyms: Arabian coffee, Coffee shrub of Arabia, Mountain coffee or Arabica coffee
For all those die-hard Coffee lovers or someone looking for an exotic talking point in your home.
With naturally shiny leaves and a beautiful dark green hue, the Coffee tree houseplant adds a gentle plant-presence to any space. They'll look great in a brightly lit corner, or as a beautiful pop of lush green in your workspace.
If treated right, your Coffee Tree will produce beans in 3-4 years. This, after producing some white, star-shaped and vanilla-scented flowers. They are self-pollinating, so you won't need another plant either!
These increasingly popular house plants come already as a standard tree, in a 25cm nursery pot so great to pair with a gorgeous sleek planter or earthy basket.
Place in a brightly lit spot and keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Graduate your plant into a larger pot, to encourage its growth into your very own coffee machine, over time.
Please note: All parts of the Coffee tree except for the beans are known to be toxic to pets and humans.
Follow these instructions to keep your Coffee Tree healthy and happy.
Water: Keep soil evenly moist, like a wrung-out sponge. Let the top later dry out slightly in between watering. A drooping plant is a sign of underwatering.
Light: Indirect bright light. Avoid searing direct sunlight.
Humidity: Appreciated high humid environments, e.g. a kitchen. Consider placing your plant on a pebble tray to supplement humidity needs.
Fertilize: Feed with a diluted well-balanced organic liquid fertilizer every two weeks during Spring and Summer. Avoid feeding in winter.
