Do you want to add a whimsical touch to your indoor decor? Then you can't go wrong with the Katstert Asparagus Fern (Asparagus meyerii), a delightful and indigenous South African plant that's sure to captivate you with its unique charm.
Quirky by nature, the Katstert Asparagus Fern, though its name suggests otherwise, isn't a true fern. Instead, it's a member of the Asparagus family, adding a playful twist to your houseplant collection. Its whimsical, feathery foliage resembles a cat's tail, making it a conversation starter and a firm favourite among plant enthusiasts.
This fern-like beauty is extremely low-maintenance and thrives on neglect, requiring only the most basic care to thrive. It's the perfect green companion for those with a knack for forgetfulness. Place it in indirect light and it will gladly grace your space with its charming presence. It is, however, versatile enough to adapt to various light conditions, barring low light, making it an excellent choice for any room in your home.
Watering is a breeze with this plant. Maintain a consistently moist but not soggy soil. Allow the soil's top half to dry between waterings. It's forgiving of occasional lapses in watering, you’ll note its storage vessels on its fleshy roots when repotting, making it an ideal choice for beginners.
Embrace the quirky allure of the Katstert Asparagus Fern and pair it with one of our locally made planters, adding a touch of South African charm to your indoor oasis. The perfect addition to your green family.
Please note Asparagus ferns are considered toxic to pets and children. Keep out of reach.
