Pfeiffera Cactus

Scientific Name: Pfeiffera monacantha
Synonyms: Pfeiffera Cactus, Lepismium monacanthum

Hailing from South America, Bolivia and Argentina, this compact epiphytic cactus features spiny growth with small white tufts along the spines. These tufts turn into an array of bright orange flowers which are followed by small, round waxy fruits (orange or pink) that adorn the plant for months after.

Care includes regular watering and sufficient light. For light, simply place the plant somewhere it can get lots of bright light and if you want flowers, allow it a few hours of direct morning sun each day

Styling tip: As this plant will cascade downwards as the spines get longer, place it in a hanging basket or on a shelf to show off the cascade of foliage and flowers.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Follow these instructions to keep your  Pfeiffera Cactus healthy and happy:

Water: Check the top layer of soil (approx 3-5cm). Once this is dry, it's time to water. Do not let the roots dry out. Water thoroughly.
Light: Prefers dappled shade or filtered sunlight. If your plant gets full sunlight, make sure that it is only morning light. 
Humidity: Normal room humidity should be fine, no adjustments required. 
Fertilize: Feed with diluted, well balanced, organic fertiliser during its growing season (spring through summer) once every 2 weeks. During the dormancy period, cut back to once a month.
