One of the most popular houseplants that has animated the minds of many avid plant collectors, the Polka Dot Begonia is one of those indoor plants that everyone seems to need.
Elongated olive green leaves are adorned with silvery-white polka dots. And with a purple underside to boot. This relatively fast-growing Brazilian plant produces a glorious white cluster of flowers from Spring to Autumn.
Place it in a warm spot with preferably some direct, yet soft sunlight. Over time, consider staking the plant as it grows taller, giving it support.
Essential house plant this.
Please note: Begonia's are sensitive to shipping and can arrive with a few blemishes, we will try our best to pack as carefully and safely as possible.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Follow these Plant Care Instructions to keep your Polka Dot Begonia healthy and happy.
Water: Water thoroughly when the top 2-3cm of soil has dried out. Be very careful not to waterlog the soil (check for good drainage) as Begonia's are especially susceptible to root rot.
Light: Ideally some soft direct sunlight for part of the day, e.g. in the morning. Careful to prevent leaf scorching from intense sunlight.
Humidity: Normal room humidity should be fine however place your plant on a pebble tray to raise the humidity in drier seasons, or if heater/air-conditioning is used in the space.
Fertilize: Every two weeks during the growing season (Spring / Summer) and cut back to monthly during dormancy. Use a good balanced organic Fertilizer.
