The Rattail Crassula is a distinctive and eye-catching succulent, characterised by its densely packed, slender, cylindrical leaves that resemble the segments of a watch chain. Its foliage generally grows upright but tends to cascade elegantly as it lengthens, making it an excellent choice for hanging baskets or planters near bright windows, on sunny patios, or in outdoor gardens.
Ideal for both beginner and experienced plant enthusiasts, this crassula adds a unique, textured element to any collection. In midsummer, it produces delicate white to cream flowers that emit a subtle, musky sweet fragrance. Native to South Africa, the Rattail Crassula thrives in hot, dry conditions, making it a perfect, waterwise option for sunny indoor or outdoor spaces.
This hardy succulent requires minimal care - water only when the soil is completely dry, and reduce watering during winter. While it can tolerate bright, filtered light, it will flourish in direct sunlight, adding drama and interest to any setting.
